Don't ask me how I got it, but the last few weeks a CD-R with 4 new tracks by Rob Halford hardly left my CD-player. It's such great stuff! I'm shure you all know that Halford used to be that screaching bald guy (and gay) that fronted Judas Priest for about 20 years. He then went solo, released some experimental stuff. The great news is, he's is back on the old track: a double guitar attack, solid rhythm section, great tunes and a voice still as sharp as a razorblade. 'Made In Hell' is a personal song, in which Halford sings about his youth in Birmaningham, dreaming about a carreer in music as a way to escape working in the metal(!)industry like most of the kids he grew up with. My favorite tune so far is 'Silent Scream', that starts like a ballad, but builts up to a huge wall of sound. It's the best heavy metal I heard in a very long time. 'Resurrection' will hit the street on August 14th.
Anybody else have a head banging experience lately...?
Regards,
Robert
