"Candy ass!" bellows my audiophile friend Dee. "It was candy ass then, and I listen to it now...it's still candy ass!" He was referring to Amy Grant's secular lite rock hit, "Every Heartbeat." The video showed scenes from a laundromat. Given that we were in college, that was not inappropriate. Whether we lived on campus or off, we rarely had in-unit washing machine and dryer. We had to leave the unit, in order to do laundry. Laudromat or not, the coeds loved Grant's "Every Heartbeat." They're now middle-aged moms, and they still like it. As my wife, who will stop folding laundry to listen to "Every Heartbeat," says, "It's not about kicking ass." -Lummy The Loch Monster |
