20 years ago, my friend was tired of getting picked on. After hearing Five For Fighting's "Superman (It's Not Easy)," she reshaped her eyebrows, to make her look meaner. A Los Angeles native, John Ondrasik graduated from UCLA in 1988, and wanted to get into music. He started off in glam metal, but with the early-90s rise of grunge, that didn't work out. Ondrasik took the stage name, Five For Fighting. Everyone thought it was a band, but no, it's just Ondrasik. If you are a hockey fan, you know that a fighting major penalty is five minutes. In 2001, Ondrasik, now a piano-driven lite rock artist, broke through, with "Superman (It's Not Easy)." In 2003-04, audiophiles got to know Ondrasik more/better, with "100 Years." -Lummy The Loch Monster. |
