10 years ago, I was working at Stanford University, where my coworkers did indeed talk about music. We agreed that the new and about-to-become ubiquitous "Safe And Sound," by LA duo Capital Cities, would appeal to both us workers and the undergrad students. Because plenty of well-heeled audiophiles lived and/or worked near Stanford, this was the last time I got to meet any audiophiles (including some of you) in person. And when some dropped off and picked up expensive audio cables (so I could treat them on an audiodharma Cable Cooker), those exchanges felt like a drug deal! Safe and sound, my foot! But anyway, I generally did not ask about musical references, so I have no idea, if those audiophiles were even aware of "Safe And Sound." The music video with all of the dancing did not come out, until 3 years later. -Lummy The Loch Monster |
