For me and my friends, our Summer Of Love was 1992, when we were all home in San Francisco, from our respective colleges. Yes, we hit the coast frequently. It's too bad, that k.d. lang's "Summerfling" hadn't come out then. It would have raised the fun and emotion even higher.

My summer 1992 fling was Patricia. With two other friends, we wanted to drive down the coast, to L.A. When we stopped at Pescadero, Patricia stood on the rocks, and I was confident that we'd come back from the trip as boyfriend/girlfriend.

Alas, that trip got cut short (the driver's grandmother was about to pass away, so we had to return), and you always wonder "What if?" k.d.lang's "Summerfling" only intensifies that, but it came out in 2000, when we were in our mid-to-late 20s, and summerflings were a thing of the past :-)

Ah - the summers of our misspent youth
and the opportunities that didn't come to be...

The coast of CA is wonderful -
I have not completed driving all of it - but need to soon
I am very familiar with the SB-SF and back- as that relationship has lasted 27+ years since I stopped commuting
Since then I have become quite familiar with SF to Mendocino - my current favorite-
Though PCH from Santa Monica to SB late at night listening to Copeland's Appalachian Spring will be forever implanted in my psyche- (2 August 1990)
Happy Listening

When she says "Meat Stinks" she really means it.
