"Whatever." 20 years ago, Britney Spears' "Stronger" was one of the very few music videos, to get any airplay. And it started with Spears shaking her head, "Whatever."  Back then, my girlfriend TLS was not a nerd girl. Neither were her girlfriends, who loved going out at night. That meant eating early, and still finding late-night eats. TLS had a 2-door Honda Civic EX sedan. I sat in the front passenger seat, while two girls would sit in the back. They'd request to open the moonroof, and play some music. Bouncing and singing along to "Stronger" was hella fun. "Stop the car!" ordered one of the backseat passengers.  So TLS pulled into a driveway, I had to get out, and slide the seat for Sharon. Still clutching her leftovers and handbag, she squatted on the sidewalk, and took a leak! We actually had a camera, to which Sharon wanted to flip us the bird. But being occupied, she just said, "Whatever." You simply cannot forget these moments. Sharon actually had a wipe, in her handbag. When we got back into the car, Spears' "Stronger" resumed, and the four of us got cooking again. Recently, TLS played "Stronger," and upon further listening, remarked, "I didn't know this sounded so good (sonically)." My wife (no, not TLS or Sharon) also knows that, if an audio product can't preserve the fun of "Stronger," it doesn't matter, what strengths it might have. Not acceptable.
