In 2013, I started working at a pubic charter high school. That was the perfect opportunity for you to shut up, listen, and see what your students were listening to. And that's how you discovered British singer Foxes.

In addition, some of your students would then go on to your alma mater. In my case, that was UC Santa Cruz. You and your students got to share and compare your collegiate experiences. And you continued to keep abreast of what they were listening to.

5 years ago, I no longer was working in education. But I've always kept the door open for former coworkers. I went with one of the teachers to San Francisco's Ocean Beach. There, she took photos of.......bird poop! Darn science teacher! Anyway, she turned me on to Foxes' new single, "Body Talk." Foxes has said that she wanted to capture an 80s vibe.

While "Body Talk" the single came out in 2015, the album, All I Need, did not appear until the first quarter of 2016. And it turns out that, on CD, the sonics for "Body Talk" are quite good. From just watching YouTube videos, you would not have known that "Body Talk" sounds open, smooth, and at times reminiscent of 80s synthpop. Given that a healthy percentage of the audiophile population likes synthpop, they should check out the rest of All I Need, which is quite good.
