Felix Cavaliere is most assuredly one of the greatest vocalists to ever front a band! He STILL sounds great all these years later. Keep Groovin Felix!

Not that it ever went away, but in the late-90s, Bay Area's TV station KTVU used The Rascals' "A Beautiful Morning" to promote their morning news program. And so, the song got a new lease on life.

Interestingly, Felix Cavaliere (wow, he does still sound great!) and Eddie Brigati wrote "A Beautiful Morning," while they were performing in Honolulu. Since my second home is Honolulu, that always added background to the song.

It's funny because as much as I love Groovin AND It's A Beautiful Morning it's not my favorite Rascals tune..., posted on June 20, 2020 at 15:31:52

I wore out their hits LP Time Peace in the 80s. Saw the Rascals live a couple of years back on a reunion tour. Not one of my favorite bands but for sure some of my favorite songs of my youth.

A search reveals that Felix Cavaliere, at age 76, still performed in 2019. And he still sounds like he did in the "Been Lonely Too Long" clip.

Actually, in the early-90s, The Rascals gained a new audience in Gen X. Their music was kind of a pushback against alternative rock, rap, and grunge. They appeared on "Oldies" compilations. And then, the New York Rock & Soul Revue, led by Donald Fagen, invited Eddie and David Brigati.

This is the exact and actual CD I bought, during my junior year of college (1991-92). On a fine early 1992 day, I brought in an AudioQuest Topaz interconnect, for use between a Sony CD player, and my housemate's Denon amp. Remember, no one was an audiophile. Yet, with this CD, everyone clearly felt that the Topaz let in more music, versus our older Monster IL-400. All of this made you feel more adult.

Oh man... I LOVE that CD! All my favs in a live performance!..., posted on June 20, 2020 at 16:51:02

I never got to see the Dan and I still intend to see Boz before he stops touring. I've seen Michael McDonald countless times including once with Kenny Loggins... Last summer I went to a "Happy Together" concert that featured many of my favs from the 60's era.... The Cowsills, Gary Puckett, The Turtles, The Classics IV, Chuck Negron (3 Dog Night) and The Buckinghams. It was AWESOME! I had planned to go again this summer as they were adding Mark Lindsay from Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Association and The Vogues and I am sure that the concert would have featured this song which I absolutely LOVE and will be on my Ipod for the rest of my days....

"Funny" story. One of Felix Cavaliere's first Hammond organ, a Hammond CV with percussion module aftermarket added, fell into my hands from another organ enthusiast from CT, and an acquaintance of both Felix and the owner of Goff Professional - *thee* organ shop for all things Hammond. What a beater this instrument was! Literally looked (and acted) like it had been dropped off the back of a truck a few times. BUT what a sweet sound! I doubt if it ever was Cavaliere's that it ever toured with him - may have been a rehearsal instrument - many dozens of cigarette burns along the side panels of the manuals (keys). Had to let it go recently, sadly.
