is that she credits SKETCHES OF SPAIN as an influence.

The ersatz-flamenco rhythm was a big part of the song's easy to like strangeness.

She could really sing. I am not surprised by the isolation, I think her expressiveness came through just fine within the full band.

No question, a GREAT performance. JA do not get the credit they deserve as musicians and songwriters.

This really shows Grace's talent. Especially toward the end when the song requires a longer stream of vocal. She presented herself as a tough type. Like so many bands of that period, the Vietnam War weighed heavily on their later work.

and, SOS may have influenced her but there's a strong Middle Eastern cadence/feel in there that predates
much of the terminology we use to describe music. Early music, et al.

They were a helluva band and their music pre Starship just manages to sound better with each passing
year whereas most post Red Octopus material sounds more tired and dated.

Grace Slick was a voice for the ages.
