What are the most common speaker terminals in use?
I'd like to be setup to test a variety of cable types. I'm gonna set for neutrik (all my cables are this) and 5 way posts. Are there others to consider?

Cheers, John

PS..Yep, Phil...the delete function works!! Thanks

Hello John,

with the 5 way b/post and neuterik you've got it probably 99% covered. The only one you wouldn't have covered would be a european (I think?) 2 pin connector with a flat pin (1/4"Wide x 1/16"Thick) and a round pin 1/16"in diameter spaced about 1/8" apart. It is in very low volume use and certainly not used in any "high end" stuff I have seen.In fact I do not remember seeing it since the early 1980's in consumer gear. All that said I wouldn't worry about including it given its low use. I have also seen a couple of amplifiers (pro gear) fitted with 1/4" mono plugs as speaker connectors for road use. I am not sure if this was from the manufacturer or whether it was done as a mod to provide a cheap quick-connect connector (a poor man's neuterik).

HAVE FUN,

JOEY.

I'll be wiring the connectors to the CVR after the holidays, and trial test runs immediately following.

Cheers, good holidays

John

John,

If you use Cardas 5 way posts you will use the best available, a lot of people prefer them to WBTs, but i am not about to start a fight over this. Just avoid the plastic stuff.

5 way Binding post are the best to use for your purpose John.

WBT I believe are the best I know of,but I wonder if there are other's which do not get their due respect as in the case of Eichmann connectors which are alot cheaper than WBT's and better.

Less means more sometimes and I have OTA Cable which supply you with Plastic connectors which work ok because there is no in between metal.

Good Luck!
