are any of you manly enough to prove how good your tube based systems are, twice?

Relax, I think you should first discuss it with KP over a candle lit diner.

they generate lots of heat, are inefficient, have lower damping factors(power amps), have higher thermal noise, and decline in performance with age?

Speaking as a tech, so does SS, although not as reliably. Tubes you can generally predict. SS life is difficult to nail down. Could las weeks or decades. Throw into the mix ESD damage....a device can work for a while, getting well past burn in. Then die in the field for no apparent reason.

No need to prove a thing much less two or whatever. I like my tube pre and amps a lot...
My only complaint wouldn't be the amount of heat they generate, but the effect it has on me ;-)
hard to enjoy music regardless of the quality when your dripping with sweat. Fortunately the hot period doesn't last to long here in NYC.
I love some SS gear along w/ some tube gear. When it came time for my money to be put down it went towards tubed gear...no regrets here.
