I don't give a rats rear end about metadata. I want to see my file structure, thank you very much! I'm sure this is old news to some, new to me!

Not exactly sure what you mean, but I can certainly see my File Structure with LMS via PiCoreplayer....

Directory tree. This is Exaile, another one that does a tree-view that I just found.

We can both see our music file directory tree structure on our NAS but viewing it in the player is pretty old school.... like extremely old school like how you might navigate your old MP3 player memory card or a thumb drive.

It can be done in Roon but that's not how music is presented in modern players with good library management. I don't NEED to see my tree structure every time I want to play music. The library manager presents everything I need - and more - w/o having to traverse the directory tree.

I can always drill down on an album or track in Roon to see where exactly the music file or folder resides but I would do that only for trouble shooting purposes. The only other time I might WANT to view my tree structure would be to know where to place a ripped album.

I think he's trying to say he likes navigating his music in the most rudimentary way.... for what ever reason.

not sure why this is so difficult to explain. I like to see the file structure as laid out on disk, not some metadata driven sort. I'll arrange the files myself, thanks, adn see that structure in the player. Foobar does this well, and now I;ve found a Linux version that does as well.
