Are others experiencing glitches in Foobar since the update? I thought my server was dropping files, but now I think the issue is with Windows 10.

Windows based audio has been absolute gash since the first Windows 10 update in my opinion. Very happy that I no longer trust Windows or even x86/x64 based computers with my audio these days.

When I loaded win 10 I experienced drop outs and volume fades with foobar2000. I went back to win 7 and all is well again

I use JRiver 21, so can't comment on Foobar, but check your settings.

I have had a couple updates in Windows 10 that changed a number of my settings. It pisses me off, as those settings should not be part of an update. It may be going back to defaults, but I never had that happen with Vista updates.

I was just using foobar a couple days ago without issue on my Windows 10 notebook, but once I thought it was stable, I disabled the automatic updates since they slow down my computer, and only enable it on occasion. Looks like the last time I updated was 5-15-2017, so guess I don't have that update yet. Nevermind :)

I'm using foobar v1.3.15.

Windows 10 "Creators Update" is being meted out by Microsoft. It's documented that it wreaks havoc with some audio programs, even rendering some inoperable.

This update may be your issue. For those who haven't received the update yet (I haven't), it can be (at least) postponed/delayed in Windows Update settings.

I have the latest update of Windows 10 Home and have not had any dropout problems with foobar2000 at any time. Are you sure the dropouts aren't caused by some other program, such an an antivirus program doing a background scan or downloading large updates for itself?

No. I don't personally have any problems. Some owners of digitizing/recording apps have reported problems after "Creator" was installed. Haven't heard of problems with Foobar.

This update wrecked my Dark One theme, forcing me to reinstall Foobar 2000. Soundwise, it seems to have the same sonic signature and all the components reinstalled correctly. Still evaluating though.
