Hi all,
A thorny ptoblem.. I am using erizon an I can't get the optical signal from the media box (Arris 1100) to connect to my DAC/Pre (Emotiva XDA 1)?

Has anyone experienced this problem? Any ideas? Not strangely, Verizon is, at this point, stumped.

Thanks.

I've been a fan of Verizon for years, I just got a new install of gigabit internet and not one of their reps can find my account. I've wasted 20 hours with their reps on the phone and online. All I was trying to do was pay the $190 bill. I have to mail a check now, it is a pain and I'll have to reorder checks. I've used about 4 checks in 10 years.

I would probably say it has got to be a setup option under output, set audio to digital in the setup menu. Not sure but I think you have to tell the box not to output sound to HDMI. I'm just guessing as I don't even have a TV.

...and be sure the box is outputting 2-ch PCM, and not 5.1-ch or similar surround sound. I had to do this on one of our (non-Verizon) boxes.
