Playing music from a USB stick!

Took a while. MacBook Air didn't want to find it locally, kept going on the the internet or, if loacal, just showing the Moode LOGO and not controlling the device as it should. iPad works for some reason but not perfect interface for configuration because the necessary buttons don't show.

REALLY didn't like to be set to Digi+ Pro. After applying and re-booting it reverted to DAC+ Pro for some reason?

Also didn't seem to recognize the Digi+ Pro card at first but after going over and over it finally decided to work?

Could be me?

"How Does It Sound?" they asked.

Might be better than the PiCorePlayer but the PiCorePlayer doesn't play music from the stick locally, only from the stick when in a LMS server so...

Who knows? I'm thinking it's about as good as I've heard using my DAC/Headphone amp with any digital input to date(OK, that's pretty much limited to a MacBook Air USB and a stock SONOS Connect.

Haven't figured out how to run Squeeze Lite on Moode Audio yet, though some say you can.

Yep, did that already.

I'll send an email off in the AM explaining what I'm doing and wait for an answer.

hi Ivan, try Rune Audio.

there's a beta 0.4 which works with Digi+ Pro

https://www.tapatalk.com/topic/151994-runeaudio/4434-runeaudio-0-4-beta-for-raspberry-pi2-3

Moode shouldn't also behave like that, maybe your SD card is bad? I always try to stick to Sandisk.

I suspect most of my problems were trying to get the browsers on my MacBook Air to stop trying to go to the internet and find 'porn' (as they normally do) when I typed in 'http://moode', 'hppt://moode.local' and/or the ip address of the Raspberry Pi. =:-0

Got it working now with the MacBook Air.

Will try Rune as I am old and have no real life anymore. :-(

I had a little time this morning, so I tried Rune... It's playing right now with Digi+ Pro...

Terrible UI though..... Does not support Tunein Radio which I use a lot. Sound is on par with Pi Core..... I'll stay with Pi Core...I like the added features of Pi Core like Auto startup of a Playlist or radio station (Not sure if Rune does this) Can't find a reason why I would want to use Rune.

I think the inducement is that it provides rich biographical information, links to other artists, cool pics, etc.

"Roon looks at your music and finds photos, bios, reviews, lyrics, and concert dates, and makes connections between artists, composers, performers, conductors, and producers."

Doesn't interest me either.

There is "Roon" which you quoted, and I agree. But I was referring to "Rune", which is another O/S for the RPi, which I don't care for either.
