I'm a week into the free trial period and see the value. I wasn't sure how much of the kinda offbeat content I listen to would be found. Answer = plenty!

I use the Tidal application on the computer (in-house system) and added the LMS plugin for the uRendu and RPi.

Started with MOG, tried Tidal, Deezer Elite, but have stuck with Spotify mostly because of the Catalogue. I rarely listen to my 1.2 TB Music Library. -- Most of it is on Spotify anyway.

Funny you should mention your stored music files.....

I had a local Sonos guy come in and drop an additional router/wifi link in the den so I can run the Connect without having to go through and extender. We added a NAS but havent dumped iTunes library onto it. Apparently this is a PITA and the guy has been dragging his feet regarding getting this last piece of pie complete.

Meanwhile my son was visiting over Easter and remarked, "why are you even concerned with your music files when all your stuff is already on Spotify and Deezer?"

Made me go Hummmm.....

Will

Is with the LMS Plugin "Don't stop the Music"...... It can search Spotify, Deezer, your music library. Start up one track that you like and it will play other tracks in these libraries that are similar.

Like the old , now discontinued version called 'Smart Mix'.

I use Deezer Elite on the Sonos which is very similar, and it is also $20 a month.

Well worth it. I read Spotify is coming out with a lossless service as well. Not sure when though.

Currently pay monthly to TIDAL and QOBUZ. Have had DEEZER Elite and Spotify. Also a brief run with ClassicalOnlineHD while it was in existence.

For $10 a month, might go back to Spotify if it sound decent on the Raspberry Pi as there is music on Spotify that I can find no place else.

What happens if Tidal, Spotify and Deezer go out of business?

If there is a market for music, someone will provide for it.

This should concern no one, but the most paranoid.

Still alive after all of that, then we lost ClassicsOnlineHD...

Still alive!

And if I had purchased all of the music that I have streamed over the last few years it would be $HUNDRED$ a month in CD purchases, some out of print and not even available for sale at anything less than HUGE bucks.

As it is, I listen to about 10 CDs worth of music for each that I purchase. The main system in the loft now runs about all day in the

I started up a free trial on Tidal HIFI yesterday. Really like it, most bands I can think of are there. I think its a good value...
