It uses the 6336 which is quite rare., posted on March 26, 2020 at 11:17:55

Its hard to imagine that very many of these could be built owing to the limited supply of power tubes.

Those are Craig Merz creations. He has quite a few amps out in the field now. Firstly, I have to note that I have no professional affiliation with him, just a happy customer. I have 3 of his amplifiers now, one being on OTL. They are engineered (with foundations on proven circuits mostly) and hand- built by himself.

Build quality is excellent, although the chassis are pretty basic but nice (thus part of the great deal). Craig's also great to converse with. He is very knowledgeable and will kindly answer questions.

I'm surprised that this amp is using the 6336- most of his OTL's employ the 6AS7/ 6080. Mine runs those, and with appropriate speakers is the best amp I own.

Would the 6c33c be a viable replacement tube? This guy only lives 1 hour from me. I'd like to audition them.
