Certainly not new in design, just a few new parts.. Here's what my '1s have now; Ralph told me that these were the PS upgrade when mine were built. At the recommendation of a trusted 'guru', I've ordered Mouser's United Chemicon 27000/160s.. My advisor wrote that while he didn't LOVE the sounds of these U-Cs overall, they're better than the old Corn.-Dub.s and are both available and affordable. I'll be paralleling each of the big ones with a BlackGate* 470/160 and a biggish film cap or two; I'm currently using a single 1uF SoniCap Platinum... Ain't this compulsion...er...hobby fun?!?!?!?! FWIW I have discussed the substance of this upgrade with Ralph. :-) BTW, if anyone wants my 4 original Corn.-Dub. caps for the cost of Priority Mail, send me a PM. * I have 6 of these left from my small stash; I'd use 4 per amp if I had 8.
