......but only as a result of Ralph's passion and commitment to his product and customers. his amps were/are among my very favorite and i have have recommended them many times. even when i had conflict with Ralph he was a class act.
i am considering contributing to Ralph's fund and wish him well thru this sruggle. the High End needs more Ralph Karsten's.

on a friends SL U-2s (his MA-2) or, on my Magnepan 3.6's I simply can not fathom how an amp could sound any better. Now it takes the auto-transformer when hooked up to my 3.6's to really make them sing but, once hooked up I swear there is no veil, no matter how slight, between the perfomance and the listener. Music takes on the body that most audiophiles strive to achieve in their system by flip-flopping interconnects, speaker wires, power supply isolators, regenerators, freezing connections, etc, etc. Just the addition of the Atmasphere is such an order of magnitude in the direction of reality that it seems most all other pusuits of nirvana (and the strife that goes with them) are in vain. Once the Atmasphere is in the chain then, in my opinion, one reaches the point of diminishing returns. Certainly with the right mix of equipment and set-up anyway.
My advice, wait and see what Ralph comes out with in his new endeavors. Hopefully it will be evolutionary to his OTL designs. I am sure they will be stellar.
