I found this recording on Youtube and listened to it on my laptop.

Seems very nice. Does anyone have this recording and are the sonics on the CD high quality?

It's available on Tidal (HiFi), so perhaps you could make the determination that way?

Here's what Classics Today (link below) said about the recording: "Harmonia Mundi's bright, close-up engineering falls short of the label's best sounding piano releases, although it's certainly preferable to the murky haze EMI provided for Yundi's recent Nocturne cycle."

Whatever the case, if this performance speaks to you, why worry?

I agree - if a performance speaks to you, then why hesitate? [nt], posted on April 18, 2017 at 18:06:40

Just get Ivan Moravec's recording and you have the best.

Of course, Moravec is my own favorite too, but if someone likes Engerer, that's fine [nt] , posted on April 20, 2017 at 16:13:49

I don't expect to find anything finer.

Just looking for different interpretations and maybe better SQ.

Don't remember this cover when I bought it originally.

Of course, those original covers were later revised:

Maybe this is the cover you remember?
