The full article is linked below. And it's not just toilet paper. Supply chain transportation issues.

New York(CNN Business) Costco is once again placing limits on purchases of toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies. The Delta variant continues to spread across the globe, sending demand for those items higher. But that's not the only reason why Costco is limiting purchases. The warehouse store is also having trouble finding trucks, drivers and shipping containers to get the items to its stores.

This is no joke. The lockdowns are literally starving the third world and it's spreading worldwide.

both had missing items. At Trader Joe's bread and ice cream shelves were pretty bare. At Harris Teeter, some cleaning supplies and pumpkin puree were MIA.

No idea... one day it was just gone. And I could not find the original file. I liked it... so I almost cried. :)

I've been "hearing" that the number of severed supply chains has only been increasing. And will get worse.

Food and medicine at risk. Stock up now.

The alarmist say the supply chain will cease. I hope that never happens but the probability is not zero.

...on many levels.

Supply chains are still "broken". Manufacturing facilities are still playing "whack a mole" with localized restrictions/lock-downs that are hampering production volumes.

Here in the US, despite the ending of supplemental unemployment benefits, workers are not returning to work--and many never will. A lot of those that were left unemployed or voluntarily left jobs during the pandemic were retirees, or those eligible for retirement, and many are choosing not to return, leaving a "wake" in the labor pool. Some positions were temporarily filled with school/university students, but with the re-opening of schools/universities, they have left to resume in-class education.

"Product diversion" and "altered demands" are also factors. Chips needed (now) by automakers were diverted to other consumer products that were in-demand. Paper-pulp, needed for toilet paper, etc., was also needed for shipping boxes and to-go packaging.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP

Don't forget that ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal (lotsa paper pulp, supposedly) [nt], posted on September 27, 2021 at 01:50:06

Was at my local Costco last Friday, packed with people as usual, but yes there are limits for paper products again. At least the disinfecting wipes and sprays are available, I'd better get some next time.
