Columbian or Sumatran? No, from Fresno. Soon maybe Floridian, as climate change and drought continue to rearrange things.

You can sense it now -- "Notes of orange with a hint of Chardonnay and marijuana."

...coffee is a very labor-intensive crop to cultivate and harvest. People won't take $15/hr to flip burgers inside an air-conditioned McDonalds. Who do you think is going to pick coffee beans out in the blazing sun?

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP

Better also hope that fire doesn't wipe out the crop. In California, at least. nt, posted on September 24, 2021 at 03:52:37

"Climate change".

Ha!

As if 2 degrees one way or the other from one summer to another is going to matter.

WEATHER is the key to growing a crop, as every farmer knows.

No, I think a couple hundred thousand, per month, is ample., posted on September 24, 2021 at 05:29:59

- Climate change causes weather changes as every farmer knows or should know or will know soon enough. The climate you expect, depends on the weather you get.

Import civet cats and you only have to pick up the poop.

Same folks, by the 10's of thousands, who have been picking crops in the millions of acres of industrial 'farm' land in the central valley for decades.

And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass

Actually, "weather" is the result of atmospheric disturbances and turbulence. "Climate" is on a whole different level.

What are they teaching in school these days?!

California! Where the climate changes faster than the weather.

Some truth to that.

NASA - Scientists define climate as the average weather for a particular region and time period. It's really an average pattern of weather for a particular region.

- They are intertwined, you can't have one without the other. Without weather you have the absence of climate. When the weather changes, the climate changes.

I'm a home roaster. Might smell really good when the next wildfire hits the coffee plantations.

About 5 or 6 years ago, I was at the DelMar Fair and in the (extensive) garden area, I ASKED one of the pros IF I could grow coffee.
I was told by her that her husband had tried and failed.
My brother in law told me about some coffee growing in CARLSBAD, about 8 or 10 miles from HERE.

This might be worth another look and I MIGHT get a different answer now?

Talk about a CASH CROP! Not as good as POT, but it'll do until something better comes along.
Too much is never enough

This is not about Tucker.
It's about Biden and the border.

And why doesn't anyone else on tv report on this?
