Most likely all of the Jurors had their minds made up before the trial started. If the defense was successful in picking just one juror that was going to vote 'Not Guilty', it will be a 'Hung Jury' and we will go to another trial.

This is not unlike a Left-Winger here on this forum trying to convince a Right-Winger of a certain issue. Not a chance in Hell.

The Jury Had it's mind made up before the trial started. And everyone knows it. That's why Jury selection is where it's at.

So? Where IS jury selection? Ever been to Jury Duty? I have....and been given the boot for no reason I could figure. Maybe just being a white-male in my 40s or whatever?
I DID serve on a grand jury (civil) for a year. Selection process was WAY different than in court.

Attorneys are given several 'disqualify for no cause' as well as FOR CAUSE. If a juror shows up and was a Mechanic at a car dealership he may be disqualfied in a case involving auto repair or injury uffered due to an 'automotive isssue'.....
Certain occupations are not even given summonses....Police, for example. And probably Attorneys!

In the days before smart phones, attorneys looked for people ready Soap Opera Digest or The National Enquirer. If you went into jury selection with the WSJ or NYT, you got rejected.

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.

If and when called for jury duty, I'll have a copy of Le Figaro.

...that the judge already had his mind made-up from the very beginning, as well. Some of his decisions regarding disqualification (or not) of several jurors, sequestration of the of the jury (in light of the most recent officer-involved fatal shootings/protests), and admissibility of certain testimony/evidence over the course of the proceedings seem questionable.

For one thing, I'm not sure I'd want to put my fate in the hands of my fellow Americans. I was called for Federal court. We all reported to the court house at the appropriate time and place. Guy from the court came out, told us about our solemn duty, etc., explained the process, then asked for questions.
The only thing anybody cared about was who was going to reimburse them for parking.
At any rate, my group went up to the courtroom for the initial selection. It was a tax evasion case. The judge introduced the government attorneys who looked like the weren't even old enough to vote.
Then the defendant stood up, and I knew the guy. Knew the whole story, knew exactly how I was going to vote. Needless to say, I got rejected, but only because I was honest with the judge and the attorneys when I was interviewed. I could have lied just to get on that jury.

The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
