I read that as this virus goes into lockdown (instead of us this time), people will be moving about in droves. Air fares, cheap so far to obtain any business at all, will be going substantially up.

Maybe its just the current air masses here, and not a new numbers of flights, but I counted ~30 contrails this morning at the same time, criss-crossing northern New Mex.

These pics were taken around the compass.

to show up here (in their stoopid shorts on cold days), walking around looking
at all the boarded up shops/spaces trying to figure out what happened.

Recently, I've been wandering around town trying to figure out the same thing.

Not always in shorts. I usually wear those at the beach, though.

I like to get my feet wet.

Regards,
SF

Air fares cheap??! I flew from Dallas to Wisconsin - in the middle of Winter - and it was one of the most expensive domestic tickets I ever bought. And I've looked at prices to go to Oakland, CA, and they're still where they were pre China virus. Where did you get your data?

And, let's not forget that the airlines are doing much better than a lot of businesses. Remind me again, how many billion dollars of taxpayer money is the government giving to them? I am fresh out of "extra" cash!

used to make me laugh when I would see them at the cable care turn table at Market & Powell with their Bermuda shorts, sandals and tropical shirts, shivering in the summer fog with the wind whipping around. I guess they thought we had the same climate as L.A.

Yes and all those price increases every year for a decade even though min wage stayed exactly the same. And the huge tax cuts the corporations were given. It's like prices are rising not from wage hikes but because of corporate greed.

To be fair, it's tough for a CEO to live on $18 million with a mere $30 billion in the bank.

Then you whine that a flight is expensive. Well you made that choice.

Whine? I merely stated a fact.

BTW, there's another 14 billion for the airlines in the proposed 1.9 trillion all-you-eat smorgasbord. It's not so much "corporate greed" as it is that the politicians are bought and paid for, and it's time to deliver (again).

Just like the Republicans last time - it's funny how quickly people forget.
