Well, Sweden did not destroy their economy and did not lock down and as far as I know they don't look like sheeple wearing "masks" that at first did not work, then they do, then all you need is a covering , and now they are the best thing ever.

SurKraft sums it up...."no amount of evidence......"
Hope this helps.
Ed
ps....notice how close the numbers per million are regardless of what the country did, except for Belgium and Peru. I'd prefer to be "free" and have our economy back to where it was before this BS that "is what it is" ...the BEST in 52 years...across the board....I can supply the numbers but anyone can find them.

Uh, learn something that maybe "they" or "you" do not know? Again, "they" and "you" are general terms but "they" and "you" know who you are.

Is that clear enough?

Deaths per million:

Sweden 580

Norway 49

Finland 61

Denmark 110

Germany 113

And yet according to their respective governments the Swedish economy is taking a harder hit than Germany.

Is your thing just about masks or are you casual about social distancing, also? nt, posted on September 19, 2020 at 14:34:16

Edit: Thanks, rv. That's the second mistake I've made this year. I've copied it to the place to which I intended to place it.

Ed,

It's essential for you to understand that some people on this forum are die-hard Lefties, and no amount of evidence will change their mind. They will continue to believe that we should all pay high taxes and have government run our lives.

But we're doing a lot. A lot of stuff. Tremendous stuff. And we're doing it quickly. Really quickly. It's going to be great. Really great. Believe me."

Worldometer. These are the official government numbers as published.

Why would I compare Sweden to anything but it's direct neighbours?

You know apples to apples and all that.

Articles published in the JAMA are considered pretty darn GOOD and I'd go with that over ANY of the talking heads, pundits or politicians.

India: 64 deaths per million.

It'll take a loong time before they get close to the USAs 616.

Deaths per Million, posted on September 20, 2020 at 14:33:12
One of the problems of comparing deaths per million among various countries is that some countries have a very mobile population, while others have a very non-mobile population.

This may be the case with India. While the country has about 1.3 billion people, the vast majority of them aren't driving from city to city, or flying to various destinations. This is in contrast to, for example, the United States, which has a very mobile population, with a large percentage of people driving and flying on a regular basis. So it should be no surprise that countries such as India and Kenya have much fewer deaths per million from the China virus.

The Indian population is extremely mobile.

Many millions travel hundreds of miles from rural areas to the cities to work.
It took them weeks to get home when they locked down and stopped the trains running.

"Many millions travel hundreds of miles from rural areas to the cities to work."

You're going to have to document that if you're to be believed. Many millions? Hundreds of miles? Seriously?

Millions of people? You DO realize there's 1.3 BILLION people in that country, don't you?

When you can say "many hundreds of millions", you MIGHT have a point.

Still, a reasonable question is: Source?

Millions of people driving hundreds of miles? Really?
