A mask and a few ng of Vitamin D in the bloodstream seem to be sufficient.

I since found a few more numbers of interest for Kenya (12 deaths per million) namely that blood tests by NGOs indicate that around 12.5% of the population may have been infected with SARS-CoV2 and from previous studies that the mean Vitamin D blood level of the population is 65.5ng/ml.
The rate of reporting symptoms and being tested specifically is very low due to draconian measures enforced by the government that is to say everybody who tests positive will be kept in quarantine camps and charged US$20 per day for that pleasure. That is a large amount of money there and would mean that those people would lose any life savings they may have had.

The only people much below 65ng/ml were those suffering from diabetes.

Also note that ALL the known risk factors for Cov19 like diabetes, old age, obesity, hypertension and being darker skinned while living in Europe or North America are directly linked ie either causing or being caused by low Vitamin D blood levels.

sorry for the caps, but you also gotta treat things with a Sterile Technique like a surgeon or working in a dangerous Lab.

Gloves, masks, washing, everything. I don't care if it's a hoax or super dangerous, I wanna live and am not taking any chances until vaccinated.

Here in USA you have a choice, so choose wisely.

But he may well be right as the vaccine may only be 50% effective and maybe 'everyone' wearing a mask beats that.

Maybe the Harris administration will sort that out, along with additional taxpayer funding for dementia.

With all the money that The Trump family Crime Foundation has diverted in their slush fund, why can't Dementia Donnie pay for his Alzheimer's treatments?

Since our statewide mask mandate went into effect, our cases have dropped off significantly. That's all the evidence I need.

All you have to do is wear a cloth mask, stay away from anyone not wearing one, and try to keep your distance in general.

They have low numbers I believe due to few tests being administered only to sick people who make it to medical help. Most sick people live in rural areas, get sick from whatever and either live or die.

Vitamin D? Many families eat one meal (dinner) every other day. Average income is $4 US equivalent per day. Do you think they are taking vitamins? It's cheaper to pay people to pull weeds than to use a weed killer. It's cheaper to hire women to wash clothes than to buy and operate a washing machine. That and the power will go out in the middle of a wash cycle anyway (possibly more than once).

I wouldn't believe much I read coming out of most places in Africa. There are large metropolitan areas where medical services might be okay, but the surrounding areas, not so much.

obesity is also linked to Vitamin D deficiency , a double whammy!

Hypercalcemia has been linked to Vitamin D toxicity, including but not limited to: kidney stones, nausea/vomiting & constipation, a decline in level of consciousness, & in severe instances--arrhythmias. Worth noting that Vitamin D is fat soluble.

A few years ago (I'm not sure how many, but it was before 2016) my lab work came back from the VA showing that my vit D level was low. I bought some Vitamin D gummies at Walmart & they tasted so good that I couldn't stop nibbling on them. I was feeling kind of bad for a little while after I finished the bottle off. Since that yearly physical, my serum results have never again indicated low Vitamin D. Still, it is worth noting that Vitamin D does build up & hang around in the fat cells, & although I apparently didn't suffer any long lasting ill effects from my blatant misuse of the supplement, the potential does exist.

I will go with natural supplements and healthy diet choices over a vaccine.

RE: Well you know what they say ...., posted on September 17, 2020 at 21:27:24
Hmmmmm, that's interesting, my last lab results don't seem to include serum Vitamin D level or anything that looks like it would be AKA Vitamin D.

Maybe the VA decided to cure me of Vitamin D deficiency the same way Donnie is curing the nation of COVID--stop the testing.

I am due up at the VA again in December; I'll ask them about it then. Assuming that I live that long--knock wood.

RE: Mask may provide more protection than vaccine, posted on September 17, 2020 at 21:29:53
I'm not completely sure how confident I am in the vaccine yet, but I'd probably go that way as opposed to a disinfectant injection.

Yes but you have to take a lot of Vitamin D (>10000International Units daily) for a prolonged time.

Taking anything up to 4000IU daily is perfectly fine.

Don't be wilfully stupid.

Kenyans don't take Vit D either but a lot of daily life happens outdoors and they average 7+ hours of sunshine daily all year.

All numbers I posted came from reliable sources ie not the Kenyan government but international research groups like Oxford University and others.

But I said all that in my post you just chose to ignore it.

Besides there is also Norway. No mask wearing, no social distancing, very short lockdown but a national habit of taking a spoonful of cod liver oil daily which contains around 1300IU of Vit D. Deaths per million 49.

That's not 'Proper' technique. My wife and I take no chances. I have 2 Doctors in the family, my wife has nursing experience, and I have a Laboratory degree. I was one of those people you see on TV testing and processing Lab samples.

I am also not paranoid, I don't wear a mask outside - only when shopping. I value life more than the 'pains' of wearing a mask.

Being sick in a hospital is life changing whether you survive or not, and it's not pleasant to learn that the hard way.

A vaccine which is only 50 percent effective probably won't make it into production, since the minimum goal that "everyone" is looking for is 75 percent.

With regard to the disagreement between Trump and Redfield, they're both right. Trump is talking about "available", which is expected before the end of the year. Redfield is talking about "widely available", which is a production issue, and will take more time.

Pfizer/BioNtech hope to produce 100 million doses of one of their vaccine candidates, currently in late stage trials, by the end of the year, assuming government approval. Producing more takes more time (duh). THIS is where the "disagreement" lies. So, it's really not so much a disagreement as it is more about the difference between "available" and "widely available". The pharmaceutical companies themselves are already ramping up for production. In one move, BioNtech is purchasing a production facility from Novartis and is hiring about 300 Novartis employees to staff it. Many things are happening quickly and right now, but the media doesn't talk about it.

The "mainstream" media of course is playing up the Trump/Redfield disagreement, largely because they hate President Trump - he's not a Liberal or Leftie. Just this morning, CBS ran a story titled "Vaccine Showdown". While they did use the adjective "widely", they still played up the disagreement. I'm tellin' ya, they're sly in how they slant things. A person practically has to parse every word the media utters, and pay attention to the tone of voice.

From readily available on-line resources:
Mr. Trump said Wednesday that Redfield had "made a mistake" when he told Congress a vaccine wouldn't be widely available until the second or third quarter of next year. The president said Redfield was "confused" and that in fact, the vaccine would be distributed "very rapidly." He added that "under no circumstance will it be as late as the doctor said." Mr. Trump claimed Wednesday, "We are on track to deliver and distribute the vaccine in a very very safe and effective manner. And we think we can start sometime in October."
Nowhere is there any clarification of the terms "available" and "widely available". Supporters interpret his statements into what he should have said or what they hoped he was going to say while ignoring what he actually said.

LOL! It was Dementia Donnie who was rambling incoherently about UV enemas & disinfectant injections. Eyes were rolling within the RNC. You know that someone got fired for not giving Donnie his Alzheimer's meds that day.

"The disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning. As you see it gets in the lungs!"

"Well . . . we're hearing tremendous things about light here . . . and if we can get the light inside like rays of sunshine maybe, I think really great things are gonna happen!"

That's amusing coming from the party COVFEFE & windmill induced cancer & IV disinfectant injections. Is Dementia Donnie still planning to take over the airports like the army did in The Revolutionary War?

Donnie thought we could prevent forest fires by raking the forest, stop hurricanes by nuking them, put out the fire in Notre Dame by water bombing it--and now he wants us to be injected with Clorox!
