After watching the violent riots and our nation of a million thieves loot merchandise... and lastly, kill innocent people... like Chris Beatty, 38 yr old football coach trying to save 2 people from muggers, Italia Kelly trying to leave a protest that had turned violent, David Dorn checking on a pawn shop shot by looters... and the list goes on.

Violent mobs from the worst in our society are pervasive. Anti government groups fomenting riots and pandemonium. They are all still out there in the shadows.

Then, we have dozens of cities defunding the police or going to replace the police with some other form of "public safety". Sure, that'll work.

I've signed up for my concealed carry permit. I'll get my permit and carry everywhere I can now. I'll also sign up for the CCP insurance, to defend me, in case I ever have to use it.

I've decided I'd rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6. This is the impact of George Floyd's unfortunate death on me. Police have been neutered, the lawless have been emboldened, so self-responsibility is to defend myself. We border on total anarchy. Happy now?

I saw where some were calling for dismantling police departments. That would be a good way to get me to sell and move.

I got my CC permit a long time ago. It took like 6 months. I don't carry all of the time, but with the permit, I CAN carry when things get stupid like now. We have hurricanes on occasion, and when people evacuate, a certain element stays through the storm with the intent of breaking into empty homes. After Katrina, things got out of hand with looting stores and private residents.

A good curricula will include lots of situational awareness and decision making to avoid conflict and enough simulation to teach you that thinking in the moment of combat is really hard and must you be very well trained.

I've been wondering who I know that has retired and/or moved to Wisconsin that has acreage. Todd A is the only person I know. When I met him, he lived in Gurnee and then moved to MN and then migrated to Wisky.

I am pretty sure, Todd doesn't know Gorman though.

I only met Mike once, that I can recall. It was at a mutual friend's house. And I would be shocked, absolutely shocked if he remembered my name. So, this tidbit of Gorman saying "Hello", is sounding fabricated.

So now, I need more clues to figure this out.

But whether it's a million or "just" thousands, destroying property and killing more people in the name of "justice" is wrong.

As a group, concealed carry permit holders are some of the most law-abiding people in the United States. The rate at which they commit crimes generally and firearm crimes specifically is between one-sixth and one-tenth of that recorded for police officers, who are themselves committing crimes at a fraction of the rate of the general population.

Between 2007 and 2015, murder rates dropped 16 percent and violent crime rates dropped 18 percent, even though the percentage of adults with concealed carry permits rose by 190 percent.

Regression estimates show a significant association between increased permit ownership and a drop in murder and violent crime rates. Each percentage point increase in rates of permit-holding is associated with a roughly 2.5 percent drop in the murder rate.

Concealed carry permit holders are often "the good guy with a gun," even though they rarely receive appropriate attention in the national media.

Concealed carry permit holders were credited with saving multiple lives in:
Rockledge, Florida (2017);
Antioch, Tennessee (2017);
Arlington, Texas (2017);
Lyman, South Carolina (2016);
Winton, Ohio (2015);
Conyers, Georgia (2015);
New Holland, South Carolina (2015);
Chicago, Illinois (2015);
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2015);
Darby, Pennsylvania (2015);
Chicago, Illinois (2014);
Portland, Oregon (2014); and
Spartanburg, South Carolina (2012).

The largest urban areas in the USA have been run by Democrats, for DECADES. I think Baltimore goes back to the 1930's, Chicago 1931, San Francisco 1964, Detroit 1962, Houston 1982, St. Louis 1945, Boston goes way back and interesting, the last real Republican mayor of New York City was Giuliani from 1994 to 2001. Bloomberg doesn't count.

For the most part, Democratic run cities and states have the most strict gun control laws and the highest crime in America, especially violent crime. Giuliani was the exception, by changing police policy to "get tough" and "broken windows". He had an amazing turnaround in lowering crime in NYC to below the national level. Not now under Dem leadership.

NYC recent crime rates:
De Blasio crime is up more. Robberies, like the cell phone snatch, are up nearly 39% — from 943 last January to 1,290 last month. Shootings are up nearly 29% from 52 to 67. Transit crime is up nearly 30%, and car theft is up 72%. Burglaries are up more than 20% and larceny is up nearly 11%.

Now, with new calls for police reform, you have to ask yourself... what the hell have you Democrats been doing all these years??? Just now you think you need police reform? And you're going to make it more lax?? Defund police? You guys are nuts!

Every weekend in Chicago, there are 10-20 murders as a result of black on black violent confrontations. Where is Black Lives Matter????????? Don't they all matter?????????

HYPOCRITES!!!!!

What is your renewal and lease payment schedule ?

California is every 24 months if you happen to be politically connected or live in a shall issue county. If you happen to be late with your renewal application, you back to the end of the line, do not pass go, do not collect $200 and pay full pop all over again as if you never had one before.

Arizona is every 5 years at a fraction of the PRK's taxation.

The game, as you know, don't play coy, is to price the 2nd Amendment out of reach of the average citizen.

That is something you should be able to glam onto. The financial restriction of personal protection to only the affluent. You know, armed personal body guards for the elite versus 911 and a rape whistle for everyone else.

The cops say the old guy tripped and fell, but the VDT clearly shows a shove from a policeman. Next, they'll claim the poor guy had drugs on him. He was laid out on the sidewalk like he was a goner.

You know, I've been thinking lately that it might help matters a lot if cops just weren't so damned DUMB. We wouldn't have half the problems we have now.
Ten or 11 days into this situation and cops are still doing things like this.

and I think they will need more anyway if these protests keep up. This could blow up even bigger, who knows.

Unfortunately, all the militarized training is no good in these situations. They should arrest protesters that are violent or commit some act of violence. Protesting or breaking a curfew is not an act of violence, however, unless there is direct intent to cause harm.

The mayor of Buffalo told CNN that the cops didn't come to the man's aid because they have trained medics who travel with this Emergency Squad and are better trained to deal with injuries.

In other words, these are the head busters and the knee cappers. That's their primary purpose.

Then you'll be able to save more money by not needing the 9-1-1 system anymore.

Need help? Call your local protestors. They can surely solve any problem.

The Wild West is making a comeback! Get your six-shooter all spiffed up!

I have a nice stainless S&W 38 revolver that lives on my night stand in the open. It's safer than having to look for it. It goes in the unlocked drawer when people come over. I would do more if I had grandkids, but I don't have any.

It says they resigned. In my world, that means you quit from your employer.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/57-buffalo-officers-resign-from-emergency-response-team-after-two-cops-suspended/ar-BB156hh9?ocid=spartanntp

The entire Buffalo Police Department Emergency Response Team has resigned after the department suspended two officers without pay when a video surfaced showing them pushing over a 75-year-old protester.

John Evans, president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, announced the 57-member team's resignation at a press conference Friday.

"Fifty-seven resigned in disgust because of the treatment of two of their members, who were simply executing orders," Evans told a local NBC affiliate.

In a graphic video shot by a WBFO journalist, an elderly man is seen slowly approaching a group of police officers until one of them tells him to move and then pushes him to the ground.
A person can be heard yelling "He's bleeding out of his ear!" and calling for medics. The man is seen laying on his back with blood trickling from his head.

The Buffalo Police Department initially said the man tripped and fell.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown (D) said in a statement that he "was deeply disturbed by the video."

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said in a tweet that "Police Officers must enforce - NOT ABUSE - the law," adding that he and Brown agreed that the "officers involved should be immediately suspended pending a formal investigation.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said in a statement Friday that he is investigating the incident.

The resignation of the Emergency Response Team would send a bad signal, said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
"If they resigned, I'm exceptionally disappointed by it because it indicates to me that they did not see anything wrong with the actions last night," Poloncarz said at a press conference Friday.

The incident is one of several instances where police officers appear to be using excessive force against demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who was killed in Minneapolis police custody last week.

In Los Angeles, a video surfaced of police officers hitting protesters with batons and shooting rubber bullets. In New York, a video was shared of police SUVs driving through a crowd of protesters, and another showed an officer pushing a woman to the ground.

he is parroting an incredibly flawed study by Arthur Kellerman in 1993.

"In the Kellermann study, homicide in the victim's home was linked to a number of risk factors — but there was no physical link between the victim's gun ownership and his or her death. The Kellermann study did not even determine whether the victim's gun was used in the victim's homicide. The homicides were not related only to gun ownership or possession — they were much more directly and physically related to a number of other factors, such as the killer's possession of a weapon, and other behavioral factors such as drinking, drug use, and previous violence. The Kellermann study did not establish that homicide in the home was related only to a related set of causes."

out of all 444 cases studied... only 8 were the homeowners gun! 436 were the perp's gun.

Calculated to distort reality.

If you're already a low-life, then gun ownership will likely not turn out well given your predilections and that of your friends.

I've had a concealed carry permit for more than twenty years...

I've seen the video ad nauseam.

It's probably not a good idea to walk toward a group of armed police which are attempting to clear the area of rabble-rousers (sp?). Another Darwin award nominee?

If the cops tell me to move back, I know I need to move back. How hard can that be to grasp?

If the cops tell me to move back, but I decide to get up in their faces, I know I can fully expect push back from the cops trying to enforce their original order. How hard can that be to grasp?

If I'm a frail and delicate 75 year old, seeing dozens of police in riot gear moving towards me and telling me to move back, I can fully expect them to treat me like any other ass hat when I choose to disobey their lawful orders. How hard can that be to grasp?

Oh no! Wait! What! They are going to send me to a Senior "Care" center with all the rest of the Covid positives? Could I please change my plea to guilty and get sent to the county jail?

Let's hope your eyesight and hearing haven't faded at 75. Otherwise, they'll beat the shit out of you in your little crystal ball scenario.

Or, maybe you just hate old people, too.

...and it's not a big deal. I also have been known to exercise my right to open-carry. Legally owning/carrying a firearm does not make you (well, me) any more likely to kill someone with one.

I was taught (as a kid) to never pull a gun on someone unless you have a damned good reason, and are fully prepared to use it.

I also determined (on my own, many years ago) that if I were going someplace that I felt that I NEEDED to be carrying a firearm, that I probably shouldn't be going there--at all.

For every lawful gun-owner that you see openly displaying a firearm, I can almost guarantee you that there are 5-10 other people illegally carrying a concealed weapon.

I'm just screwed on the Hawaiian shirts--I have a few that I wear in the summer--usually with khaki or white shorts, and top-siders--not sure what that means? No "skipper's cap"--don't own a boat--not for decades, so I don't pretend--sorry.

"And today is for sale and it's all you can afford. Buy your own admission. The whole things got you bored. Well the Lord chooses the good ones, and the bad ones use the Lord"--a very dear friend for decades Michael Stanley (Gee)--RIP

... is what happened after the guy got pushed to the ground. Basically nothing. They just let him lie there bleeding.

Put yourself in his place. We geezers don't move very fast. How he would/should have reacted is very dependent on his age and reflexes.

If you can't understand that, wait until you're his age. Then you will.

And as you observed, crime in the ranks of the nearly 19 million of us who have a concealed carry permit is virtually nil. It is almost by definition given the legal requirements.

We begin with paying for a thorough FBI background check and continue that process every five years or so depending upon state. My next renewal is 2022.

what happens with the actions of individuals like George.

He thought it would be a good idea to point a loaded gun at a pregnant woman and rob her.

He had the constitutional right to own the gun until he savagely abused it.
