 ...about 1/4 of Venice is under water, courtesy of an Atlantic storm resulting in extremely high tides and heavy rains in northern Italy.

 I've been there once and it is a really wonderful city.

I wonder how many times it can be badly flooded before buildings start falling down.

 The City is supposedly fixing but looks like the repair has been slow.
