So, how's Timbo's treatment coming along?

Had a PSA test 19th April, and saw my GP Thursday 27th. Last test was in August 2016.

The latest result is the lowest I've had since 2003, just 1.4!!!!!

BSEGrin, eh?!

This does not mean it's all over, as it may well take <1 year until I can be fairly certain it IS over. The supplied booklet suggests that the 'symptoms' of the treatment may last another 6 months.? Tiredness and frequent uncomfortable 'visits'.

Strangely, we are now both feeling even more tired, perhaps because this was the first check on progress, and it's such a good number.

We were given a bottle of Moet last Xmas which we will crack when Prof. Stricker and the oncologist reckon I'm clear.

I will be truly confident when they move me from 3mth intervals for PSA tests to 6 mths, even yearly?

Thanks again for your support!

Warmest

I hope it keeps going in this positive direction!
Do not get blase' though (not that you ever would).
Keep up the 3 monthly checks forever!

This is probably well known but if you take any allergy meds one of the side effects can be trouble urinating when the patient already has an enlarged prostate. And most guys over fifty have an enlarged prostate.

fwiw I've received treatment as well for a high psi number. After a rather arduous and unfunny needle biopsy my tests came back negative. Good luck there. I have found, though, that I can reduce the effects of trouble urinating/enlarged prostate by being careful with my intake of alergy meds. (ie I don't take any more pills than is necessary) Cutting back on the pills greatly reduces the problems with urination.

But that is just me.

Isn't it fun getting older! ;^]

And I know its work. You have fought hard on this with aggressive treatment to get this result.
Congrats on this interim result. Stay on board and push for more. You'll be glowing in the dark for awhile yet. But hey -- it saves on lighting costs. Stay away from security checkpoints.

This has been and remains still, the most challenging task ever, and not just for me.

Trisha gets disturbed sleep too, because she wakes up when I have to get up.

I manage my reactive sinuses with saline douching. Sometimes with cortisone spray - like in Spring!

I can't use Ibuprofen for the stinging pain, either. Just Paracetamol, Cranberry Ural fizzy mix, Cranberry juice, and SFA coffee / caffeine.

Except when I just HAVE to have a coffee!
