I have a buddy in South Carolina who is a Baptist preacher. He loves to walk up to total strangers (usually Mexicans in green work uniforms) and say "I know you!" as he points to their "Jesus" name patches.

I am not allowed to have a signature line.

Any specifics? We're lucky, our guys are great. What're the scams to be aware of?^, posted on April 24, 2017 at 11:28:53

Now, Simon, HE was a zealot when it came to lawns.

And various shrubs.

What type of mower does she use? My ex never really forgave me for buying her a manual push mower for her birthday instead of the power job she'd wanted.

Consider yourself warned.

I have a power mower, I'm cutting the grass, posted on April 24, 2017 at 18:29:43
I have a gas powered power mower, handed down to me from my dad. still working, Snapper Hi-Vac I think it is called, must be more than 30 years old. Also have a similar age snowblower handed down from my dad as well.

the purpose of my note, these lawn services seem very shady, you talk to a "guy" and then another guy is supposed to make the decision.

I cut grass for the first in a decade time Easter morning, going to do it tomorrow. I say to check the weather and if it is hot do it early in the morning or in the evening.

basically my brother was doing it, but he says since I am home that I should. No one wants to see people get no exercise. I did look into lawn services today, really wanted lawn doctor but they don't serve my area. Having my mouth filled with dirt wasn't appealing to me but I'll suck it up and deal.

Also cut my wrist open with my backyard fence today when I was talking to the lawn guys. haha!

Positively absolutely sure he was blind
I've found the best woman there ever was.

Here's just some of the things that my woman does...

Why she shakes my ashes, greases my grittle
Chimes my butter and she strokes my fiddle
My woman is such a handy woman (oh yes she is)

She threads my needle, creams my wheat
Heats my heater and she chops my meat
My woman is such a handy woman

Sometimes he's up long before the dawn
Busy trimmin' the rough edges off my front lawn
Yeah that woman is such a handy woman

Why you know she never has a single word to say
No not while she's working hard
And I wished that you could see the way
She handles my front yard

My woman is such a handy woman...oh yes she is...

If you mean mowing/trimming, I must disagree. Those are some of the hardest working guys I've ever seen, and many of them do a great job. If you mean fertilizing/weed control companies, that's another story.

The shadiest companies, in my view, are the plumbers, the residential HVAC folks, and the "investment advisors". Show me an investment/financial "advisor" who will tell you to buy a no-load mutual fund - ain't gonna happen. And, I've had an air conditioning issue for about four years (a leak in the refrigerant line), and I've gotten four, count 'em - FOUR, diagnoses. I actually paid the first one to "fix" it a few years ago. It still leaks, and so I'm buyin' a pound of refrigerant twice a year.

But the shadiest people, in ANY profession, are the politicians. They all promise a bright future and a better life for all. F-em. The only person who's made my life better is ME.

Have a lovely day!

:)

If I bought my wife a LawnMower I'd be Mulched.

I bought her a Bread Machine several years ago and I've gotten good with it. She won't TOUCH it.

Where does one get a lawn-mowing woman?
Too much is never enough

Hahahahahahaha! That's actually pretty funny.

It's a slow leak, and takes about 4 months or so to get where the AC is noticeably less efficient. So then we have them charge it up again. Had it done a few weeks ago, so we're good through June or so. One more charge around June/July will get us through September. It's annoying, but it's still cheaper than throwing money at repair work which may or may not fix it - already did that once. Diagnoses:

1. Outside, where the line connects to the outdoor unit ("fixed" that).
2. Inside, on the backside of the evaporator coil. (The next "pro" said there's no leak there.)
3. Copper line running through the house foundation. (The guy's best guess.)
4. Outside, at the compressor motor connection.

When the guy was here a few weeks ago, he said they could do a full system test/leak search for $500. 'Course, that doesn't include fixing it.

Bottom line: They don't know. Solution: We're thinking of buying a new house in a few years anyway, so, whatever.

:)
