Talked with him. Installer didn't care. In his accent, he said: "leave me alone, let me do my job."

OK, fine, don't learn any new from now on.

I thought we were done with crap-shit amateur installations decades ago.

Clearly not.

Lovely:

Talk to your neighbor.
Unless he has an accent too.
Then they would certainly be in League against you.
Call DTV, find someone with no accent to have someone with no accent fix the job on the house whose occupant has an accent.
Then you only have to deal with one accent.

I'd call his supervisor and complain.

These people (his boss included) work for the consumer. Second-rate (shitty) installs are unacceptable. I'd pitch a bitch. That shit ain't cheap.

I may be wrong, because frankly, I am most of the time, but I do believe I detected an accent in his writing

for any reason. They have nothing I need and nothing I want. They are

Stop beatin' around the bush, and tell us what you really think. ;)

Years ago, I had two AT&T cordless phones. They were great. One was a 5500, the other was similar but a different model number. I actually still have them, even though I have no need for them - it's hard to throw things away. One phone which I still use and is almost ancient is a Trimline. It actually has - molded right into the metal base - "Bell System Property" "Not For Sale". Hahahaha!

These days, the only thing of AT&T that is useful to me is their stock. I'm thinking of writing to the CEO and enclosing a copy of the piss-poor installation the guy did. But then, if they decide to improve the quality of their work, their earnings per share would be negatively impacted and the stock price could go down, so I'm conflicted.

:)

First I'm sorry to hear about your typical bullshit experience with modern corporate customer service. When did you become so naive? Read my reply to your first whine and learn. I just hung up one minute ago from Amazon and was talking to Akila. She was very nice. I told her I wanted to guess her accent and not to tell me. I have talked of my voice recognition gift hre before. Shoulda been a linguist like Noam Chomsky huh 51? : )

Soooo near the end of the call I say your accent tells me you are from the Islands and its not strong enough to be Jamaican so I will guess Trinidad. Her answer :"Bingo"! Yes! Fist pump! I love all people and am the anti-xenophobe! Adore me! Worship me! OK just kidding. I'm giddy today.

But really for a few years now I have treated any customer service call as a chance to be the nicest person that they have talked to that day. It is its own reward. I asked Akila if she had seen the movie Akila and the bee to which she replied yes and I was in lots of spelling bees as a kid. How cool is that?

but you dont want to hear that from someone that did not home but business install of DTV. You would be unhappy when I told you the system is designed to produce these results. Some homes take an hour or less, some five or more. The pay sucks and this is what you get. You want Ruth's Chris results on a McDonald's budget. Your inability to see, learn or face the reality is just as big a problem. Please continue to scapegoat the little brown people to suit your ego and misplaced perspective.

The only way to fly. Not only is it mature, respectful, and makes someone's day a little brighter you get better service. Bonuses all around

Good point. Lots of xenophobia to be found in the US these days.

Hahahahahahaha! That was funny.

The only reason I included the reference to his accent was to fill out the story's imagery a little more - the guy was from India.

Some people here are way too sensitive (not you). They get a bee in their bonnet and never let it go. Speaking of bees, I got stung by a wasp the other day - in the house. It was flyin' around, trying to figure out how get back outside. I went after it with a flyswatter, and it came after me with a stinger. Just a little sting on the arm, 'cause I brushed it off just as it was getting started on me. But I digress.
