Omega Micro Ribbon power cords... (Mapleshade)

...I found them. They do exist. Took me awhile. I'll be dammed. Thin ribbon power cables. Upon a quick look they actually had the nerve to have two different models each with a POWER RATEING on them. One was 30watts and another one was 100 watts. If I recall my Ohm's Law I think CURRENT is a factor in wattage, but in Geoff land it probable doesn't matter, there my not even be such a thing as matter. T

He sells it for $99 a bottle :-)

I thought Mapleshade had ribbon power cords but wasn't sure and didn't want to bother Pierre again. I need something more substantial when it comes to power cords, especially with a 100 lb. German Shepherd roaming free in the house. He already ate 2 power cords. Because the cord was attached to the vacuum cleaner, I spared his life.

No Sue, That's me that sells matter for $99. My company name is Machinationa Dysentaria if anyone is interested.

They are very good.

Mind if I ask if you own an Omega Mikra power cord? How much an improvement are they over a stock power cord? Also, how fragile are they?

Thanks

I own two of them, which replaced the mapleshade power cord. One goes from the wall to a Torus power conditioner. The other goes from the Torus to the power supply of my preamp (Decware ZT Pre). Not fragile at all. However, they are very sensitive to placement. One has to move them around to find the "sweet spot". I'm looking for the 100 watt version for my CD player.

They have a coherence and depth to the sound field which is remarkable. No part of the spectrum jumps out at you, one focuses on the music in a relaxed manner.

Try them, you will like what they do. And mine are a generation or two older then the current ones.

Do you have the active (battery box?) or passive power cord?

While I never tried a Mapleshade power cord, the Clearview (a wire in a baggie) interconnects were also very sensitive about placement. I literally had to blow them up everyday per Mapleshade instructions. I suppose it comes with the territory when you are dealing with the fringe elements of high end audio. Ultimately though, I'm not sure those Mapleshad IC's were worth the extra effort.

But I'm still interested in trying the power cords. I've learned over the years to never pass judgment before trying, because when you least expect it, some piece of audio gear will blow you away. That's what keeps this hobby fun.

....is what I learned watching Star Trek. And I believe we make our own miracles in life. Not to say there aren't things that defy explanation like the Teleportation tweak :-)

There's an explanation alright. The APA lists over three hundred types of mental illness. Pick one.

Defy explanation? Huh?!, posted on August 12, 2016 at 11:12:44
To be fair, I explained the Teleportation Tweak last year. Didn't you get the memo? Perhaps you meant defies understanding.

What can YOU tell me about demonic possession?

I read the explanation, posted on August 12, 2016 at 14:02:20
Some mumbo jumbo about cell phones being bad for you stereo and you stumbled across a fix but can't explain what it is?

Didn't you rip off one of the guys at Audio Annex when he paid the $60 and all he got was a couple of clicks from an answering machine? I don't recall, did he ever get his money back?

RE: I read the explanation, posted on August 12, 2016 at 14:21:48
You're such a silly goose. It wasn't Audio Annex, it was right here, on AA. That was that nitwit Richard Wainwright who ripped me off with a scam so up he could announce on AA the tweak didn't work. It was a prank call. Hahahah

You have a track record of getting things wrong. Have you given any consideration to maybe finding another hobby. ;-)

You humble me with your expertise in this area. Wouldn't even try to compete.

Yo SK. Why not move over to the tweaker's asylum where there is occasional talk about how to improve sound systems along with the insults.

I thought you'd never ask. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I'm sure Tweaker456 has been insulted by better people than you, Geoff, and so have I. Time to move on.

And you were right about the Teleportation tweak scam I thought the party involved had actually paid the money. I found the thread linked below on the DIY forum that explains what happened.

Some people actually admit when they are wrong. My apologies.

Way, way better! Thanks for the complement Sue.

Huh?, posted on August 13, 2016 at 08:39:51
He paid the money before the TT. Then he claimed it didn't work and asked for a refund. Meanwhile he posted that the TT was a scam on AA. Then I refunded his money and took down the 30 return policy for the TT. I put the 30 day return policy back up a year later. This is all very old news. You'll have to do better research if you're intent on finding some real dirt. Try harder!

Yeah Sue, try harder. Let me know if you need any help with the heavy lifting. Tweaker

I've got a pair of speaker stands filled with lead shot in my basement. Care to bring them upstairs for me? I've been feeling like a pair of bookshelf speakers lately.

I've got plenty of things cooking in my audio kitchen other than just footers. See you on the outside.

:-)

By the way, you seem to be an excellent fit over on Tweakers. Just an observation. ;-)
