What are their strengths and weaknesses compared to the more well
known speakers listed. The conical horn vs the flared horn of the
others?

Thanks

You know, I never even heard of the 615 till I saw that pair on ebay today.

Thanks Tom, they must be pretty rare. I received a private email from an individual who also had never heard of them and was distressed that he couldn't find anything about them in his literature.

I think I've changed my mind though, about going for these speakers. I don't feel that the much smaller horns can portray music with the EASE that you get with a big pair of horns. I've heard VOT's (and liked them) but I've never heard any high performance coaxials. Too scared to put my money where my mouth is until I hear some.

I'm very happy with my Klipsch Cornwalls, but I think I can get even more EASE with some larger horns. I will probably ask for advice on this forum if and when I do decide to go for it.

The 615b has the same drivers as the 605b but the horn is different. It has a conical horn with a "para-toner" ,a tear shaped diffraction diffuser to give a 90 degree conical distribution of sound. One big difference between the 604/605 and the 615 is in the range of high frequencies produced. The former is speced for 20k-22k whereas the latter only goes up to 12K which makes it suitable for PA but not monitor use.
