Hi,
I just acquired a pair of SAP Quartette, does anybody know what are their impedance? 8 ohm or 16 ohm? Thanks.

Measure it with a DMM. DCR will read in the vicinity of 0.7 x Z.

It measured 3.7 ohm, but it doesn't sound right.

3.7 ohms DCR would be a nominal 4 ohm impedance.

There is very little information on the web, but I see that the midrange has no crossover components - it's across the full-range signal. So I'll speculate the woofer is in parallel and both are 8 ohms, with a coil in series with the woofer. That makes 4 ohms in the bass with 8 ohms across the midrange.

That's possible. Bizarre, but possible. However, before making any assumptions I'd do an impedance sweep to be sure.

Just the upper part is 6.8ohm, with the lower part together is 3.6 ohm.

Call Vu at Deja Vu Audio in Tysons, VA. He use to import them. IIRC, they measure terribly, but sound very musical.

If by lower part you mean the lower frequency range that's where current demand is highest, so that's where being sure the load impedance isn't too low for the amp capacity is critical.
