A while back it was time to clean up the living room a bit.
Photographers were coming, real estate dreams.
Out went the horn stack, replaced by mid-century
approved Pioneer CS-99s. Dreams come and go,
and so did these. But quest for sound never ceases.
The Pioneer 15's are sweet and lovely. So, disconnect
the rest, look around among leftovers. Pioneer PD-4 j-horn,
lower the 15's a bit, Supravox 135 in the 500-1000 range,
and B&C DE-35 to top off the horns. First order crossover,
and a Slagle speakerformer to bring down the horns. (These
are utterly transparent). Not a lot of bass from CS-99s of course,
so the old JBL Parts Express sub gets to play along. Jeffrey made
the beautiful baffles. Something about finding the sweetness in each driver,
and letting it be.
Bon Iver's Bloodbank just arrived. Must have flipped it 6 times by now.

Peace,
Mats
