Did you guys see Dr Gizmo's old Sunlight Engineering 308 18" speakers up for sale in US Audio Mart? These are supposed to be incredible sounding and very rare, 2-way, high-sensitivity drivers. But the main reason I'm bring them up is because they look to be mounted in an enclosure that reminds me of an older KCS speaker design by John Kalinowski! If you're here John did you build these enclosures?

I remember seeing these drivers for sale on Agon probably eight years ago, but they were in a sealed box enclosure. From the way the seller worded the description it seems that he designed an built the enclosures himself. Could be wrong. Sure would like to hear them.

Big speakers and little amps blew my mind!

I saw these drivers in the warehouse of the man that purchased them from Gizmo -- and they were beautiful. IIRC, they have T/S that indicate an open baffle or open backed cabinet. A sealed box would be the worst way to use them, IMO.

I do remember that.

Those amps came from a pair of Beveridge 2sw that were destroyed by hurricane Katrina.

I have since sold my pair of 2s -- they were shipped to Sweden and are the fully restored demo pair for the European Beveridge distributor, if Rick Bev is still in business.

Nice to hear from you,

David
