I am settling into my new home. Last weekend I got the preamp, amp and speakers hooked up. For source I used an Onkyo DP-X1a and a 3.5 mm stereo to RCA cable. I did that because I was struggling to get the Brooklyn Bridge to connect to WiFi. I finally started a support ticket on the Mytek website. Much to my surprise I received an email from Michel last Sunday evening with a number to call and talk to Damian. Damian was great! He patiently walked me through the process and we got it connected.

I am very impressed with Mytek customer service!

I transferred the Brooklyn Bridge from my office rig to main main rig. Very nice! Although I am less than impressed with myControl. Is there a better app for Android?

Now if I could just figure out JRiver. LOL

I agree, Jriver not the most intuitive interface I have ever used :)

But it sounds very good and is fast at indexing lots of music file!

p.s. I am jealous of your mytek but someday I would like to see an in depth shootout between some of the high end DACS and an RPI4. I bet there would be some consternation among the high end manufacturers were it to get out that streamers such as the Bryston use a $40 RPI inside the case!

I also have a Brooklyn Bridge and I really like mine. I also use MControl and it works fine for me. I like to play music from a 1-TB USB flash drive plugged into the USB port on the Brooklyn Bridge. I discovered that I had to reformat the flash drive into NTFS in order to get it to work. Even then it will play only PCM files up through 24/192. I have to use JRiver to play DXD and DSD files.

I subscribe to QOBUZ and I use MControl on my smartphone for controlling the Brooklyn Bridge when streaming. Again, it works fine for me.

Anyway, I hope you get your Brooklyn Bridge figured out because I think it's one of the best sounding DAC/Preamp/Streamers I've ever heard. I now use it as my preamp because I've pretty much switched to digital exclusively. However, I like the fact that I can also connect my turntable to the analog input on my Brooklyn Bridge.

Good luck,
John Elison

@John Elison Thank you.

I submitted a Technical support ticket Sunday to Mytek and received a response from Michal later that evening with a phone number to call.

Damian was very patient and helpful and walked me through establishing a WiFi connection to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Still working on JRiver. LOL

Unless you're trying to play DXD and DSD music files, it's easier to buy a USB flash drive and plug it into the storage USB port of the Brooklyn Bridge. You can play PCM digital files up through 24/192 by using your smartphone or tablet to control your Brooklyn Bridge with the MControl app. Just remember to reformat the flash drive to the NTFS file system before loading your PCM music albums.

Here's the USB flash drive I bought:

Perhaps the DIY crowd is onto something.

Or Bryston is on to something :)

Charging $4K for an RPI in a fancy case?

Not in-depth, but M Lavorgna just posted an rpi4 shootout on his website (twittering machines). He did not prefer the sound of the stream from the pi.

and pray tell, what web site might that be?

Bottom line from his eval: the rpi4 makes for a nice inexpensive streaming solution. For a bit more money, it can be bettered. In his eval, he used external dacs on the rpi.
