Does anyone know if a standard IEC aftermarket cord with three female slots (WireWorld Electra, AQ NRG-2, etc.) will fit a Sony UBP-X1100ES UHD player which uses a detachable cord, but has only two prongs? From pictures, it appears there is enough space. Or is an adapter necessary?

Sony Playback gear isn't grounded, so no 3rd rail/slot. I, posted on July 20, 2020 at 09:37:49

use a Clarus Aqua Component Power Cord on my HAP Z1 and 5400.
The cord is 3 prong, the players 2, no problem.
Definitely more There there with it!
Clarus ICs are great too!

Don't you have a spare power cord that you can test on your Sony? I must have 10 of them in my interconnect box of wires.

Any standard IEC aftermarket cord with three female slots will fit over the Sony UBP-X1100ES two prongs inlet. No adapter necessary.

I ordered one from US Amazon to be used in Singapore, and found that inverting the ac polarity is necessary at the female IEC plug of the power cord. Doing so restores the natural sibilance of the human voices, and allow soundstaging to image at the height where they should normally be. USA users do not need to inverted ac polarity.
