....at Schuba's. Great show; full but not crowded at all. The opener was some guy named Gross from Grand Rapids, MI, and he was fantastic as well; he played 5 songs, and seemed very uncomfortable to be on stage, but he was great. Rachel played for about an hour and a half, which was a welcome change from the recent trend of 35 dollar 45 minute hi-hop shows. The girl I went to the show with with knew Rachel from the previous band that she was in, so they shared a few minutes talking together in the cd sales line; I'm sure it pissed off the people waiting in line. If you have a chance to catch Rachel, do so....

I took a few pictures as well, but I doubt anybody would want to see em. If I'm wrong, let me know, and I'll put em up.

She was in the funk band, Bumpus. Listening to her solo material, I wonder what Bumpus sounded like. Went to college at Northwestern, so Chicago is her hometown crowd. If she plays Columbus or Cleveland, I'll try to see her.

I saw them once at the double door, and they were good. But that is about all I can remember, If you know what I'm saying....but I dont' think I'd call em funk, per se. I'll get around to resizing the 2 or 3 good pictures in the next day or two, and put em up here...
