I love Willie D's work - some mixes are excellent & visualizations at times poignant (if thats hip terminolgy within this genre?) - my last stop = "Loved By Few Hated By Many" - whats happenin' in the modern rap scene? - is it having good moments of creativity? - if so, what albums? TIA

Not familiar with Willie D, but here are some relatively current suggestions for hip-hop not about guns, drugs, loot, bling, v12s, SUVs, or any of that crap. Jurrassic 5, Dilated Peoples, Kanye West, World Famous Beat Junkies. Get J5 if you don't have it. One of the rappers, Charlie 2NA, is in another band whose name escapes me right now....

Charli's other band is Ozomatli - not sure he's still in it though

he should be having a new solo album this year

It's two years old, so it has happened between Willie D and now. In the last 2 years, the only Rap I've listened to is this and a few things on the Def Jux label (Mr Lif, El-P). I think this is very different.

Def Jux website is really nice by the way.

he went on and had a couple of solo CDs but never reached the level of success that his band mate Scarface did...
