Hi

Do any inmates own MrSpeakers Aeon headphones or Ethers that can comment about the value in terms of sound and build quality for the money. I was looking at the Audezey EL 8 and Sennheiser HD 700 amoung others but read some reviews about MrSpeaker and they were all outstanding.

I recently tried out the Ether latest model, open backed. Very nice with excellent build quality. Pretty comfortable, some low sub bass. I have hearing loss so they needed to be a little brighter for me. You might want to do what I did and audition them through their web site. The owner was very responsive to emailed questions. With shipping and re-stocking, it cost me around $150 for the trial. No regertz, as they sometimes say.

I'll beat my own drum with the URL below. Again, HD800 too neutral for me.

I heard the Ether Flow C at the recent Munich show along with top of the range cans from Beyer Dynamic, Focal etc. etc. The Mr. Speakers struck me as the best of the bunch, at least for my tastes. A very good chance that I will buy the open backed version later in the year (recovering from the cost of a new DAC right now). However as in all things transducer I wouldn't commit the money without either a good audition or a return period especially given the price bracket that high end headphones have now reached.

Enjoy your day celebrating your escape from us :-)
