hello, this is my first post to this forum, I have been in the vintage area, and iso ward for awhile.
Question, I have had the sound bug now for 55+ years, and I have put together a dual mono system for headphones. Heathkit, AA-18 4w, solid state. Each amp has a .250" headphone jack, mono of course, I need a Y adapter with 2 mono male jacks into one female stereo jack. does anyone know of a vendor that could supply such a thing? Or do I need build this myself?
thanks

Check Mouser, Newark, Partsconnexion, and Michael Percy. One of them might have the adapter, but I generally find it takes less time to just buy the plugs and solder them together.

I remember buying the exact adapter you describe at B&H . . . but this was years ago. I was able to find something close: dual mono male to stereo female; but it's 3.5mm all around, and the male jacks are right-angle. Sorry! This turns out to be a difficult adapter to find. Good luck!

(EDIT: Consider inquiring at Head-Fi. Folks there are building all sorts of oddly-configured cables, and they tend to have lots of connections to custom cable builders who could easily put something together for you. Here's a solid lead: http://audiosensibility.com/blog/)

A male plug, not jack. Anyway, that would be a pro-audio
thing, so try those guys. Lots of adapters on e-bay, many
shipped from China, figure 14-20 day wait. But very cheap.

thanks for the input, I will buildd this myself...NT, posted on December 17, 2016 at 08:39:37
