Can't argue with that.

Retirement Sale.
After more than 40 years in the hifi business, Ralph Spear, the Spear of Spearit, is retiring. We will be closing out over $1,000,000 of inventory of some of the finest brands available.

You normally don't sell off your inventory unless you're shutting the business down.

Thats too bad. I bought a Esoteric SACD Player from them which was was "exhibition stock" For less than half the price of retail plus it came with the 3 year warranty. I also bought a Cambridge Audio CXC transport and a few used pieces too. I live about 2 1/2 hours away and it was always a pleasant drive up there. I'm not seeing too many great deals yet.

I doubt there would be many buyers for a bricks and mortar high end audio shop these days, especially in this fairly frugal neighborhood. Older folks don't have the dough any longer, younger folks could care less. I've got five of the "younger" folks (age 21 to 54) and none of them care about audio. Music, sure. Audio, meh. I could never make it as a shop, wouldn't want to. And what's interesting is that most of my customers aren't from anywhere around here, not even in Massachusetts. I love shops, especially books shops and (long gone) record shops. But most people don't shop in shops these days, as we all know.

I still enjoy "shops" Bob. Most places do not have Audio operations any longer, so, I travel to audition gear.
