Been running my small mission speakers while working on my ESL 63's.

Of course I have the grill covers off.

Intercepted my granddaughter seconds before she pushed in a speaker dome. I've forgotten the days of "kid proofing"!!!

Many years ago my wife turned my equipment off in the wrong order, mute switches et al. Only took out a fuse, but she won't go near the system now. Things evened out when warning stickers were put up for me regarding laundry instructions after my own mishaps. So things go both ways.

Good to laugh it off now. I'm sure there are many similar stories out there.

Cheers!

Ed

Wife doesn't go near my stereo gear but I have yet to be properly trained on not shrinking her clothes in the dryer. ;-)

My idiot Step-father-in-law pushed in the dome of my Dynaudio T330D Esotar tweeter. Super-genius. Kid proofing is one thing, idiot proofing is a completely separate exercise.

My wife does not let me wash or dry her clothes. OTOH she doesn't wash mine either. BTW as hard as I have tried I haven't got the hang of the vacuum, floor mop, dishwasher, or duster. Oh well.

Yeah, I need to start messing up on the various domestic appliances so get banned from them all. I kinda like that plan. ;-)

A few years ago a TWC technician came by to fix an issue we had with the cable TV system. The main cable came into our home through the wall just behind where our speakers were situated. As the cable guy advanced toward one of the speakers with the intention of moving it to get behind it my wife said "Don't you dare touch that speaker! You're going to have to come back on a day when my husband is at home so he can move it." Needless to say, I was proud of her vigilance. Disaster averted.

45 years or so ago when the kids were little I splurged on a pair of Marantz 7MK something speakers. Anyway, a week later I removed the grill covers and found the domes on both tweeters pushed in.

Never trust three, four and five year old kids. They're like cats - curious, exploratory and capable of innocent damage. Although children can figure out that Dad might be angry and do what they can to hide the damage.

Idiot Resistant is about the best you can hope for.

Proof against idiots? They are way too inventive.

I have no problem using the vacuum cleaner or dishwasher. Those are two of my areas of expertise.

Ironing board... not so much. Ironed a shirt a while back - I think it was about 2001. Took me darn near 10 minutes.
