Here's my setup. About 17 years to build, details in my profile.

Recently got a new preamp, also added in a 5 CD changer which doesn't sound too bad at all.

I have been an audiophile since I was 14 years old, 55 years ago. I started with tubes back then, of course. After owning over 20 turntables, I am now exclusively solid state and digital.

I have spent over $40K in the last year enhancing the system. My last addition, only a week ago, is the Wilson Benesch Torus Infrasonic Generator System x 2. These added elegance, refinement and precision along with that missing octave I craved.

I sincerely believe this is the end of a very long journey of discovery.

My profile is under "Inmate Systems."

Don't those Basses vibrate or ring while stereo's on?
Play something loud, then abruptly stop it, see if you hear them.
That's how I found out my Piano was doing that!

It is a cosmic tweak, yes.

took this pic early this morning after reading your post BH (Sunrising in the livingroom), then I went for a run.

I just swapped back in my 20s after listening to my MMGs for about a month. Sorry if it looks unorganized; I blacked out the TV because it was just a massive glare in the original pic.

And for those wondering, yeah I stacked my components because well that's how I want them.

It has taken over 30 years to get here. Recently downsized to the current configuration, which has the best sound to date.

Frank, who basically won't shut up.

Managed to get a pic of him with his mouth closed.

Just the basics for Sunday listening.

Upstairs it gets nutty.

I've always admired your excellent taste from what I've seen over the years.

I have a pair of MMGs as well (to the right), they are a good value.

The 20s must be magnificent just looking at the size of them.

Breaking in my new Yamaha A-S1100 integrated amp, which replaced my Yamaha C2a preamp and Forte Model 5 power amp.

So far so good.

I recently went to an integrated as well; I like the simplicity. The Yamaha has that nice, classic look as well.

You'd never know it from the monstrous HT-2 channel combo system I posted below!

Still, my other systems are all simple and I love them as much.

One has an SL-1301 and Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II integrated and the other is a BelCanto DAC/Preamp and BelCanto power amp (no TT - I stream to it through an Apple express).

Thank you Josh!

Those are very dense foam blocks. They are discardable inserts in end cap type frames used as protection in electronic instrument packaging.

I needed something dense that does not compress or deform under weight. Various cones type devices were out because of the shelf surface not being a solid. I also needed something to prevent the selves from ringing.

I had two already from a component I had owned at the time.

The width fits exactly between the feet on the bottom plate of my Rowland amps and between the upright posts of the amp stands. The length is the same as the amps.

They worked so well I had asked the same manufacturer if they could send me more. They sent me six which is the exact number I needed.

The overall dimensions fit all my components as if they were custom made for them.

I like the simplicity of the rack. The lack of solid shelves eliminates any dust collection and resonances. The shelves are adjustable and are no larger than needed for the components I own. The foam blocks prevent ringing. I guess the best part is I got it for nothing.

I have a pair of Acoustat Spectra 11 and Martin Logan Aerius, but no high in-service powered amps to bring into the office. I do have a pair of Newcomb 6550 pp monoblocks, but one needs work....red plating a 6550. There's no interest (or need) at this time in having it repaired.

The Fostex full-range drivers in the pic have been in this room for 10 years. They've only left for one afternoon for a demo at a AK meet. I've never tried anything else in here. These speakers, with the M&K sub under the piano bench load the room nicely.

That's nice to hear! There's something to be said if one can downsize and simultaneously improve the sound quality of one's system.
