to their home stereo with good quality sound? I currently use a Logitech Squeezebox but even as great as it is, it has it's connectivity issues (fallouts from wifi).

I'm looking at going blue tooth where I can send flac files directly from my laptop to a blue tooth receiver example fed into my preamp.

There are multiple usb bluetooth dongle transmitters as well as 3.5mm transmitters on Amazon but not sure which is the best option. Looking for others who have gone this route.

I searched in PC audio forum and digital forum w/o success.

Thanks all in advance-

Yes, I have and do. I bought one of these (see link) mainly so the wife can play stuff from her phone or iPad through the big rig. Sound is very good given the compressed source files.

Looks promising, only problem is my laptop is not Bluetooth, looking also for a Bluetooth 'transmit' unit that is hifi capable. Thanks for the suggestion however.

" to their home stereo with good quality sound?"

Bluetooth good quality sound? Ensure that the transmitter/receiver are equipped with aptx if you want Bluetooth with good quality sound. However whatever you choose will be limited to 16/44.1. No hi-rez audio is possible.

I am probably missing something, but it is super easy and cheap to add bluetooth to your computer. The link below was one of many available.

Audioengine also makes a Wireless Audio Adapter, which lets you send 16bit/48KHZ from USB transmitter to a powered receiver with audio output.
So a very basic Wireless DAC.

They also have a higher Rez 24bit/96KHz version which really nice looking connectors.
