OK I know this isnt an audio post. But the AA family is so large, I thought some of you might have some insight. I have looked on and off at the ads for these watches for a few years. The Graves 33 has always fascinated me, and I see that Stauer has released a new skeleton style. Both are beautiful watches, and modestly priced. I do understand they are built in China. I check Epionions regarding them, and found afew reviews on the Graves 33. 4 out of 6 reviews were overwhelmingly positive. The two negative, were decidely so. With such a small sample of on-line reviews it calls into doubt the overall consistency of the manufacturing process. So does anyone have an opinion on the Stauer watches? I am not interested in collecting fine watches, but do like the beauty and aesthetics of these two.

 I am not familiar with these watches so can't really comment on them. However, generally speaking you would like to know what movement is in the watch and the maker of the movement - among other things however I want to keep it breif. (I could not find any mention of the movement on their web site) Chances are they are using a pre-assembled movement from China. (Most watches do)

It is very reasonably priced, so the risk is not huge in this case. If you like it, take the plunge!

(If you want a very well made watch with an excellent movement for a reasonable price - check out Louis Erard. You can get them between $550 - $900 on the internet and they have the same movements as a Breitling, Omega, etc)

It's more $$ then the watch you are looking at, however as far as fine watches go - these prices are hard to beat. My bet, these watches will be double the price within 24 months.

Hey. It's only $99. If you like it, buy it.

I have about a dozen watches and wear them according to need. Some for work or more formal occasions, some for sports, some for casual wear, and some for gardening and home improvement.

I agree with rnhood regarding Timezone - I got a lot of my information there. I am a bit of a budding watch-o-phile neophite myself - still learning.

I don't know of a site off hand, however a google search turned up a few sites. Me personally, I am not sure I would buy a watch with that price tag sight unseen over the web. I would find a B&M store to deal with for that calliber of watch. (They do negotiate prices - if not, find another store)

chronomat. Keep it on an automatic watchwinder with my other automatic watches. biggest downside is it loses time considerably. If you want a quality automatic watch for similar low price, check out Russian-made automatic watches on the internet.
