I am planning on installing an outdoor FM antenna, problem is, that I don't
know a thing about them. I have a new tuner on the way, and would like to
better the performance of the dipole I typically use. I live about 80 miles
west of N.Y.City, and if it's possible, would like to be able to receive FM
broadcasts from there. If anyone has any knowledge on this subject, or decent links to share, thank you in advance for taking the time.

Chris Fargas who lives near NYC as well, has a webpage. Try www.wb2vvv.com There is a lot of information there.

I have posted some outside FM antenna reviews at my website below.

I would heartily recommend the APS-14, APS-13, or APS-9 directional antennas for your particular application. You may want to simply mount one of these highly directional antennas aimed towards NYC and use a coaxial switch to switch between it and a local horizontal omni antenna (like the FM turnstile from Radio Shack for $14.99). On the other hand, a rotator is useful to simply turn a single highly directional antenna towards NYC, Phillie, or wherever...

Kind Regards, Chris
