The thread on interconnect burn-in started 8/26 under my name has been archived, so I thought I offer this one here at an attempt at closure on that thread. Thank's for the input there, it kept me motivated. If you recall I was burning-in a pair of new interconnects for 100 hours. Well, the 100 hour mark was reached. As I expected, it's difficult to compare the 1 hour sound to the 100 hour sound, but what memory I had suggested that if there was any burn-in effect for these interconnects, it was mild. After burn-in I experienced a little more open and dynamic sound, but not significantly so. I also compared the new burned-in interconnects to my old interconnects (which I perceive as open and dynamic, but somewhat hard and harsh). My sense was that the distance between the sounds of the old and new interconnects had lessened after burn-in, but, again, not significantly so. So the burn-in effect for these interconnects was at best mild. However, for the "cables don't make a difference" folks, I definitely perceived a differece between the old and new interconnects, and this was all on a modest system with modestly priced interconnects. At any rate, while the new interconnects weren't hard or harsh, I found them soft and uninteresting, so they're going back and I'm going to start the burn-in process with a different set.
