Hi, I just read Herb Reichert's review of the TAD CE1TX speaker. Both Herb and John Atkinson loved it. I read it over a couple times and something made me wonder. Herb Reichert's uses different types of amps for the review, which I think is great. The thing that made me wonder, not the number, was that Herb used a different type of music for every different amp. Why not use the same song/music for each amp. That's the only way I would think you could make a sonic comparison. The way he does it might involve more mood than ear. That's my only critical critisism of a critic I got today.....thanks...Mark Korda

There should have been direct comparisons with similarly priced speakers.Bookshelf and floor standers. Then only can we shoppers can decide on the better buy. We should have our money's worth.

You evidently don't know how commercial audio criticism works. Do you expect him to compare these bookshelf speakers with the best speakers you can really get for the same $35,000?

Absolutely not!

For then he'd have to erase all those beautiful adjectives he lined up for his description of these overpriced speakers.

It allows him to seemingly make comparisons without reaching a meaningful conclusion except that everything sounds good.

My guess is that he did play the same music, but it my not have put the amp/speaker combo in the best of light, so he found some music that was more complimentary.
